Connecting Instagram
Connecting your Instagram account to your Pillar Media Kit allows you to leverage detailed analytics and data, enhancing the functionality and effectiveness of your media kit. Follow the steps below to set up your Instagram account properly and link it to your Pillar Media Kit.
1. Ensure your IG Account is set to "Professional" mode - either to a "Creator" or "Business" Type
To take full advantage of the media kit features, your Instagram account must be set to either "Creator" or "Business."
Here's how to do it:
Go to Settings
Open Instagram on your phone, navigate to your profile, and tap the menu icon in the top right corner. Then, select "Settings."
Find and Click "Account"
Scroll down and find the "Account" option. Tap on it.
Select "Account Type"
At the bottom, youβll find an option to switch account types. Tap on it.
Switch to "Professional"
Choose to switch to a professional account.
Choose "Creator" or "Business"
Select the type of account that best fits your needsβeither "Creator" or "Business."
2. FROM YOUR CELL PHONE: Link Your Instagram Account to a Facebook Business Page
To access advanced analytics and demographic data, you need to link your Instagram account to a Facebook Business Page.
Open Instagram and Go to Your Profile
Once on your profile, tap "Edit Profile."
Check "Page"
In the "Public Business Information" section, you will see an option for "Page" - if it says the name of a Facebook Page (see below), you're all set!
If it says "connect or create page"
Just tap the Page row and follow instructions to connect a FB page to your IG!
- Go to "https://pillar.io/mediakit" and select IG - follow the steps and connect your IG!
- We highly recommend going through the connection process on a laptop or computer for the best experience!

"I've tried connecting a bunch of times and nothing is showing... . what do I do?"
- If you're having trouble connecting your IG account, chances are:
- You haven't connected your IG account to a FB business page (see above), or
- You're logging into a Facebook account that doesn't own the FB page that's connected to your IG account
