Learn how to create automated email sequences that engage your customers at the perfect moment after their purchase. This article will walk you through setting up your first email flow and making the most of this powerful feature.

What Are Email Flows?

Email flows are automated sequences of emails that are triggered when customers purchase specific products. They allow you to:

  • Send timely follow-up messages
  • Build stronger relationships with customers
  • Provide product support automatically
  • Drive additional sales through targeted recommendations

Creating Your First Email Flow

Step 1: Business Address Setup

Before sending your first email flow, you'll need to add your business address:

  1. Navigate to Settings
  2. Click "Account"
  3. Enter your business address (required by law for marketing emails)
  4. Click "Save Information"


Step 2: Create Your Flow

  1. Navigate to "Email Flows" on the left sidebar.
  2. Click "+ New Sequence"
  3. Name your flow (e.g., "Product Welcome Series", "Course Follow-up")
  4. Select trigger products:
    • Choose which products will start the flow


Step 3: Build Your Email Sequence

For each email in your flow:

  1. Set the Timing
    • Choose when to send (minutes, hours, or days after purchase)
    • Tip: Start with a welcome email within 24 hours
  2. Craft Your Message
    • Write an engaging subject line
    • Create your email content
  3. Add personalization
    • Customer First Name / Last Name
    • Your Name or Username
    • Product Name
    • Product Link
  4. Save Draft or Publish
    • Save as draft to edit later
    • Click Publish to activate

Adding More Emails to your Flows

  1. To add a second email for your email flow, be sure to click "Save Draft" on your current email.
  2. Next, click on the button that says Add Email

Personalizing Your Emails

Make your emails more engaging with these personalization options:

  • {customer_first_name} - Adds the customer's first name
  • {customer_last_name} - Adds the customer's last name
  • {product_name} - Inserts the purchased product name
  • {my_name} - Includes your name
  • {my_username} - Includes your username
