Zapier Integrations with Pillar ๐Ÿ“ง

Oftentimes, more advanced users will ask about integrations and Pillar. The best way to integrate with other platforms (such as email marketing tools) is via Zapier.

Connect your Pillar account to Zapier to easily send outbound emails to the leads you've collected through lead magnets and digital product sales. To do this, you will also need to have an account on an email marketing platform. For this article, we will use Mailchimp as an example.

Zapier collects leads from Pillar and sends them to Mailchimp, allowing you to send bulk email campaigns to your leads through Mailchimp!

To get started, create and publish a digital product or a lead magnet on Pillar. Make sure your lead magnet requires a name if you would like to address your store's visitors by their real name in your outbound emails.

Digital products require the buyer to enter a name by default, so you won't need to do any additional work; just make a killer product and publish it on your Pillar creator store!

When editing your lead magnet, make sure to flip the switch above to collect the names of your leads

Now, go to Zapier and create an account if you don't have one. In the home page, you should see a create button in the top left corner. Click on it to integrate your Pillar account.

Follow the steps below to create your Zap:

1. Click 'Trigger'
2. Search up Pillar and select it as the trigger
3. When prompted to choose an event as the trigger to the workflow, choose 'Create Customer'
4. Proceed to the Account tab and connect your Pillar account by entering in your login credentials for Pillar
5. Choose a dummy record and click 'Continue with selected record' on the bottom of the page
6. Create an action for your trigger by clicking on 'Action'

Note: The following steps are Mailchimp-specific. The process is almost identical if you are integrating Pillar with another platform such as Klaviyo or Flodesk. The only differences are the names of specific actions or events.

7. Search up Mailchimp and select 'Mailchimp' from the options
8. For Mailchimp, choose 'Add/Update Subscriber' as the resulting event, then click continue
9. Under the 'Account' tab, log in to your Mailchimp account through the popup window

Pay close attention to the data mappings shown below. Specifically, the 'Audience' field is not data collected form Pillar but a list of contacts from Mailchimp that you'd like new contacts to be added to.

10. Map the collected data to their respective fields in Mailchimp, as shown above. You may ignore all other fields
11. In addition to all the fields shown above, you can choose to tag your new contact so you can filter them in Mailchimp based on what product they got
The corresponding tag shows up in Mailchimp when you log in
11. Again, you can choose to test the action or skip the test. If you choose to test, data from the test entry will be added to your Mailchimp
12. Click 'Publish' to publish your Zap!
13. You can change the title of your Zap to make it more recognizable in the future

Congratulations, you've just integrated your Pillar with Zapier to create a workflow with Mailchimp. View your new creation in the 'Zaps' tab:

You can test this integration by entering a customer's info into a lead magnet on your public Pillar page and then verifying that the corresponding entry shows up in your Mailchimp contacts list.
